Styptic Powder is a safe, quick, and effective aid to stop bleeding of minor cuts or scratches.
I rarely cut my dog's nails too short but sometimes they move or I make a mistake. It's such a relief knowing I have this on hand if there is blood, which there was and it worked perfectly. I feel more confident just knowing it's here but I'm always happy not to need it.
We bought this styptic powder due to having frequent bleeding when we trim our dogs nails. All of his toenails are black so you cannot see the quick and even when using the quick find clippers he still tends to jerk his paws back and ends up getting his nail cut too short and he has some bleeding. This powder is the best thing ever, we have tried all the other products from a styptic pencil which didn't work too well ( had to hold it in the blood for several minutes). We tried the liquid filled q-tip styptic product (better than the pencil, you crack the top off and the liquid flows into a cotton swab tip that you blot on the bleeding) still took too long to stop the bleeding. The powder however works like a dream, you just pinch a tiny bit and stick it on the bleeding spot and voila, like magic the bleeding stops in seconds. The best part is once the bleeding stops it stays stopped. The other products sometimes didn't hold up when our dog would get up and walk, the small blood clot would fall off and the bleeding would start again. This stuff really works great and it is not just for dogs. This is good to stop any small wound from bleeding. It naturally helps the body create a blood clot or a scab to help stop bleeding. This is a must have for vets, pet owners who clip their own pets nails, dog groomers, or any accident prone people.
This product is fantastic. My dog's nails always end up bleeding during a trim, no matter how careful I am. The bleeding can be difficult to control, but this product really helps with that. It's safe to use, and stops bleeding almost instantly. Because you don' have to use a lot of the product it can last a long time. For the price point it's an excellent buy. I highly recommend for both pet owners and professional pet groomers!
Used in a grooming shop for the occasional time when a nail gets cut a bit too far and bleeds. Works great for that and a good price.
I'm too scared to cut my dogs nails so the roommate does it. I just stand there like a dork holding this jar of powder just in case. The one time it was needed it worked quickly and what seemed pretty pain free.
Haven’t had to use on my dog, but good to have on hand. Expect it to work to stop bleeding if I should cut a nail too short.
Only works more reliably on a dog. It is basically the same thing as a styptic pencil in case your dog gets a small cut, but this way you won’t have to chase your dog around to use it.
Right size to dip her foot in
