The grooming kit comes with the following items: 1. Grooming Arm with clamps (no table included) 2. Three harnesses for the grooming arm 3. A set of hand grooming tools including nail files, nail clippers, hair clippers, comb etc. To us, the portable grooming arm is a game changer. We've been grooming our 60 lb standard poodle since we got him, and every time we have to chase him around the house and it really hurts our backs. A grooming table is too expensive and we don't have the real estate for it either. This portable grooming arm consists of (1) table clamp (2) One straight support (3) foldable arm (4) three harnesses. Putting them together took me less than 5 mins (see photo). Two out of the three harnesses are to put around dog's belly and neck. What is nice about them that they have soft foam around them so they do not hurt the dog. With the help of this grooming kit, we managed to finish the grooming in one hour without too much messy. One thing to keep in mind though the arms are made of metal, they are not super heavy duty. So if your dog put its weight on the harness, it will bend. Therefore, make sure you choose the spot where you clamp the arm wisely so you don't break your table. PS: the hair clipper is not from this kit. It was a previous purchase.
Okay, so these are not high-end, top-quality shears. If they were, you would be paying a LOT more for them. However, you get several different style shears, from small ones to large, and also curved ones. They have blunted ends for safety, as well. None of them have adjustable screws in the center, and they are all relatively tight, but nevertheless, do a decent job. Only time will tell how long they last before becoming dull, but as I said previously, for the price of this set, you really can't go wrong. To buy even one pair of high-end shears would cost you nearly three times to amount of this entire grooming set. Also, you get the grooming arm that can attach to your countertop or table, provided there is an overhang to screw it onto. I have a small wooden cart, and it works perfectly on that. I just need to place a non-slip mat on the cart so the dogs have comfortable footing. Overall, this is a good kit to start out with. Just be sure to get some guidance, either online or in person, on how to actually groom without doing any damage! It's so easy to accidentally cut a dog, especially when you have a wiggly one! And don't leave them on the table unattended! If they try to jump off, there is obviously a choking hazard.
I put this on a small two person dining table and it has held strong for quite some time (and this table isn't anything special). It somes with so much too! And the tools, for the most part, are not the cheap tools you usually get in a set. I love it and HAVE recommended it already!!!!
Mostly everything in the kit is lovely. It's good quality and I love all the little details and accessories included in the kit. That being said, the arm itself isn't as sturdy as I expected. It's the main reason I got the kit, and it could really use some reinforcement.
As I only have my babydog, a little yorkie girl, I just sit her on a card table in the corner...its so much easier now that I have the arm to hold her still..she doesn't like her little face brushed or cleaned, or her paws so she tries to sit on them and turn her face away... It was very frustrating for both of us before! Now we are able to get done much quicker as she stays in place and I have both hands free to brush and trim her, wipe tear stains....whatever needs done! The arm seems sturdy, it was easy to set up and attach...I had to put blocks of wood on top and bottom of table to keep the clamp firmly in place...expected this as its an old card table, not the sturdiest thing.....would not need the blocks on a better table. The tools are very nice, scissors are sharp and have the blunt ends to keep you from stabbing your doggies. My girl has rather thin hair so we dont use the metal comb or thinning shears but the comb would be nice for thicker fur. Its great that 2 sizes of nail clippers are included. Overall, I am very happy with this grooming set up and definitely recommend!!
Hello friends, I selected this modern innovations dog grooming arm for smaller dogs. We have a poodle who's ridiculous and this harness changes the whole grooming game. He cannot run away nor does he want to. He's kind of freaked out by the restraint. He just sits there now believing some invisible person is holding him hostage. Excellent. The harness also comes with a set of grooming tools. There for all kinds of hair types which is really nice. This is definitely a set for someone starting a grooming business or someone who has multiple breeds of dogs at their house and they want to do it all. The only additional thing I would add to this set is a dog vacuum. Other than that it's pretty darn nice and not that bad at 32 bucks.
My puppy's fur grows so quickly, so I'm having a tough time keeping up with the price of the groomer. This set allows me to try to trim him occasionally without having to keep chasing him around the house or wiggling too much. Fortunately, this is very similar to what they use at the groomer, so he is used to standing still better when he is looped in. Also, I really appreciate that I can attach this to the outside table so his fur is landing outdoors instead of inside of the house. I'm still not great at grooming, but this certainly helps and includes all you need to touch up your own dog. Totally worth the price.
