I ordered this for my future Puppy that I will be getting in September this year. Trying to get all her equipment prior to her home coming. Can’t wait to use it all!!!
The brush is gentler than those without the plastic bristle ends; it cleans superbly; the comb is strong and has two teeth widths; I haven’t used the nail clipper yet but it seems sharp enough to cut cleanly.
I own 2 kitties and got this set on sale! Love the product quality and packaging so far, except everything is sized for a medium to large dog. The brush, comb, and trimmers were all much bigger than expected. The guard on the trimmers are definitely not intended for any normal size cat, would immediately sever their quick. The mail trimmers are exceptionally sharp which is nice, but a bit large for my hands AND holding a squirming cat. The comb is also a bit big for a cat, I was expecting a finer tooth to it. If I still had my doggos, this product would be perfect.
I had a similar brush that went missing, and bought this set because it came with a comb, and I wanted to see how that worked on my shed monster. First, the brush - it's the same style as the one I lost, but this one is superior in every way. It's bigger, so I can brush more of my cats' bodies in one go, and the tips of the bristles are cushioned so as not to scratch the skin. Also, the fact that the bristles retract makes cleaning it a snap. Next, the comb. I don't know how I got by without it. It's fantastic at pulling out loose fur that didn't make it onto the brush. Lastly, the claw clipper. I was least excited about this, as I had never been impressed with clippers before. I had a motorized sandpaper drill which worked well enough (meaning it would take me 2-3 days to complete trimming one cat's claws - I have 4). Obviously, I'd never had a GOOD clipper. This one is amazing. I can do one cat per evening, and get their claws shorter than I've ever been able to! I've had this set for about a month, and I use at least one item from the set most nights. In particular, my shed monster really enjoys being brushed, so he gets a thorough brushing and combing almost nightly.
Worked great
We loved this set.. I loved that I could brush my pup and clean all the hair and grass debris easly off the brush. After a month the spring that helps it retract came dislodged and now it doesn't work anymore. But the comb is great. I haven't used the nail trimmers. I'm too chicken.
We have two Australian Sheppard puppies. These are the only dogs in a long line of having dogs that didn't like to be brushed. One of them acted like the brush was causing discomfort. I found Ruff 'N Ruffus Self-Cleaning Slicker Brush With NO- PAIN Bristles and let me tell you how happy I am with this as well as two happy puppies. The most important thing is that the puppies no longer have discomfort when I am brushing them and....they love it! They even sit still or lay down while I am brushing them. This is just what we needed! Also- easy to clean, easy to hold. Love this brush!
We have seven cats (yep, seven) and actual metric f-tons of cat hair. While we were on vacation a couple years ago, our petsitter accidentally stepped on our brush and broke it. Since then I have purchased enough useless brushes for a small village, searching in vain in stores and online, for a self-cleaning brush capable of efficiently removing the cats’ loose hair without being harsh on their skin. My hopes weren’t wildly high when I ordered this one. In truth, I figured odds were excellent that it would be just another piece of rapidly delivered garbage. This brush is well made and came packaged thoughtfully. It’s quite a bit larger than most brushes of this type, easily large enough to groom a large dog, outstanding for me since three of our cats are ginormous. The bristles have exactly the right flexibility; gentle but with enough pull to get all the loose hair out effectively. The self-cleaning mechanism functions nicely and leaves nothing behind. This brush is well-worth the price. My cats love it and their fur looks beautiful. I was so pleased I bought another. As a side note: Far too many brushes on the market have nasty wire bristles, like something you’d clean a grill with! Some may claim those are fine for pets’ coats, but I sure wouldn’t care for one of those repeatedly raked across MY scalp. I want my pets to enjoy being brushed so I can enjoy not being covered in hair all the time. Happily, this brush has all the benefits of a wire slicker brush without the potential for injury and my cats love it.
